The Dog Park

Oh, hi, friends!

I've been busy keeping up with school, but I'm actually keeping up with school. Even though my classes are so work-intensive, I've actually been getting everything done and in on time. Normally there's not much homework in CM classes, but I got lucky to have 4 my last semester!

Last week, Ben had to do some inspections in Lake Tahoe, so I spent three nights without him. I'm fine with being alone, but I do always have that "uneasy" feeling. Blitz and I went to the dog park Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, I went first thing in the morning. We spent about 2 hours at the dog park where we met a girl from Germany who had a young female German Shepherd. She was quite interesting. After that, Blitz and I went on an hour walk around Woodward Park. I was going to take us home, when I walked by the dog park and saw a Black German Shepherd! I knew we had to go in and say hi. I was hoping it was one of his siblings!

We went in and this girl freaked out about Blitz. She said she had never seen one in person before her dog, and couldn't believe I had one. Turns out, they are not related. Hers is an (almost) 2 year old female. Blitz and her weigh the same even though he's only 8 months. I can't wait for him to be full grown! I hope he gets up to 120. Anyway, her and I stood there and talked for 3 hours! She was a super cool chick. I don't know why I didn't ask her for her number or something so we could have doggy outings. Hopefully I will see her again there soon.

Blitz and his twin...he's on the right.
So yeah, I spent 6 hours at the park on Saturday! I was totally not expecting to. It was around the time I was leaving that Ben said he was heading home. Thank goodness my weekend wouldn't be totally void of him!

This week has been chugging along just fine. I'm still getting my work done on time. We hired three new people at work in the last month. It's crazy. I come in after lunch (thanks to school) and there's just some new guy there. I'm glad, as I suppose it means we're doing well. My 8 year anniversary at the firm will be in June. Crazy!

Oh yeah, I found out I have high blood pressure on Friday. My doctor noticed that the last several times I've come in, it was elevated so I get to take pills for it now. Nothing makes you feel old like having to take blood pressure meds! Basically I need to live a healthier lifestyle. I need more physical activity. Well, I bought a years pass to the park. It has nice, long trails for walks / runs, bike paths, etc. We also joined the gym. No more excuses. Plus, I have to be bikini ready by May!
