For Christmas, one of the gifts that Ben's mom gave to me was my first bulb plant: the Amaryllis. It was literally a bowl with dirt and a huge bulb in it. I had no idea what to do with it, but she said just to water it. I put it on top of our mantel so I wouldn't forget about it, and I made sure it always had water. Within a week or so, life started for the bulb. Two green chutes begun and rapidly grew. The plant became taller and taller by the day. It was the fastest growing plant I'd ever seen! Not to mention, it was incredibly low maintenance! Finally, she blossomed and this is what we have today. Remember I got this as JUST a bulb on Christmas.
