A few weekends ago when Ben was away in Tahoe for work, I was loading up my Tahoe to take Blitz to the dog park when all of a sudden I had that feeling I was being watched. I look up and there is a man across the street wearing a jacket with no shirt underneath. He was standing with his legs spread and his hands on his hips, pulling his jacket back bearing his ridiculously ripped body. He was at the edge of his driveway staring RIGHT at me. As soon as I saw him, I looked away and kept about my business. But he didn't move. He didn't say anything. He just stood there being a creep. I went back inside, grabbed Blitz and went to leave. Upon going back outside, he was gone. I had never seen him before, but weird things go on across the street where there are lots of people who come around. An elderly woman lives there and I'm pretty sure she has rental houses (overheard people coming to pay rent), and she may foster teens because various teens of various races are often around. It was weird, but there's never been any trouble so I blew it off looking forward for Ben to get back.
Today I'm home (holiday) doing my homework in bed. I know it's weird, but that's where I work. I had the blinds open, enjoying the natural light. I saw him again. He was walking down the street and back, looking down and drugged out. His mouth was open and he seemed confused. I didn't notice him look in at me, so I wasn't worried, just noticing him walking.
Then I went to the kitchen to make lunch. The blinds were closed, but I saw someone pass by. For some dumb reason, I assumed it was the mail. But there's no mail today, it's a holiday. Then they started knocking and saying "hello!" Well, #1 I NEVER open the door when I'm alone. EVER. It's either J-Dubs or someone trying to sell shit so I don't answer. It's better for both of us. I froze, though, because I knew it wasn't one of those folks, it was HIM. I peeked through a crack and confirmed my suspicions. Now, I am home alone today because Ben had to work (poor guy). Finally he walked off, lingering around my Tahoe for a minute. I called Ben and he came home. The guy had walked back across the street to the house, then walked off again. Ben came home, and we couldn't see the guy walking around.
Next thing I know, I see cops driving by a few times, then they stop at the house. Someone called him in! I ALMOST did, but technically he didn't do anything bad today so I had hesitated. I mean, aside from him obviously being drugged out. They left again, though, and it's been uneventful ever since. But now instead of doing my homework, I'm staring out my blinds to see if creepster comes back! EEP!
(OF COURSE the damn dog wasn't inside either. I was making lunch so I had put him out. If that dude would have come knocking, Blitz probably would have jumped the door and barked, freaking him the F out!)

That is WAY creepy! Do you have any way of finding out what he got arrested for? I'm curious!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if they ever even found him! I haven't seen him since, though. It's been a few hours. I don't know how to find out what he was called in for!
DeleteEESH! That's super scary. We get a lot of that in the parking lot behind my salon and I'm often there late at night, alone. (I lock the doors as soon as my last co-worker leaves.) I *never* hesitate to call the Sheriff's Dispatch line if I see any random creepers. If enough people in your area call about a similar incident, the police will usually increase patrols in the area for awhile. I hope he's not coming back!
