New Career Venture

Last Wednesday I was offered a job with a General Contractor in San Jose whom I had two interviews with in July. I was flooded with emotions: bliss, anxiety, happiness, sadness, stress, et al. That night I came home and wrote my letter of resignation, as well as asked the GC for a week extension. They wanted me to start on the 17th, which would have given me ZERO time between my last day and first day. Thankfully they gave me the 24th.

So on Thursday, I quit my job of eight plus years. I felt sad, but proud to take on the new challenge of a new job, and the huge change this all means. I accepted the position. It will be similar to what I do now, but I will be learning a lot of new things with room to grow (something I'm missing currently).

Ben is currently looking for houses up there. What a fun challenge given we're a package deal (dog and cats). Such a huge change in such a short amount of time. I'll try to update through the process. I'm just glad that Ben and I will be living together again seven days a week. I love our house here, and our life here, but we both need this change...professionally and emotionally.

Tomorrow kicks off the very best time of year...NFL! I can't wait. Fall, NFL, Sundays, and gambling. Lots and lots of gambling. I'm playing in two Pick-Em Leagues, two Fantasy Football Leagues, and a Survival League. Oh, and both my team and Ben's team (two east coast teams) are playing in SF. WOO!
