Moved!

With everything going on, it's been hard to break away to update on here.

I started my new job over a month ago and it's so amazing there! I am complimented frequently on my work which is something I've never experienced before. It certainly is a breath of fresh air. There are so many perks to my new job, as well. The company keeps three fridges stocked with food and drinks. I rarely buy lunch and I never buy breakfast. They have delicious coffees, too. I save a ton of money on that stuff. Everyone there is really nice. I love my superintendents and project manager. I love the ladies in accounting. I love all the dogs around and look forward to when I can start taking Blitz in.

Our new house has been a lot of positive and negative. One of the main reasons we chose it was because they didn't care about our zoo of animals. We also chose it because it was nice, and close to our offices. From day one, though, we've had some troubles. Upon moving in, we noticed that all of the "touch up" painting they did didn't match. We also noticed that the whole house is LIGHT BLUE. (LIGHT BLUE!!). After talking with the owner, he agreed to let us paint it whatever colors we want (neutrals, of course) and he'll pay for the materials.

Within days, the water heater broke. It may not seem like that big of a deal, but it is significantly cooler here than Fresno, and not having hot water for 5 days is quite the nightmare. I tried to take a shower one morning and I just couldn't do it. I resorted to boiling large pots of water and mixing it with cool water and taking baths. It was such a shitty situation. After being sent the wrong part under warranty, they finally agreed to let us exchange it for a new one. Finally had hot water, and finally could run our fancy Bosch dishwasher (that was loaded to the gills). Guess what? Dishwasher didn't work. Called Bosch. Troubleshot. "Broke, have to send out technician". TWO WEEKS LATER, the tech came out and told us it is a $400 fix. After talking with the previous tenant, it was found out that the dishwasher was basically new and they could never get it to work (they installed it themselves). Upon troubleshooting, Ben discovered the electrical was wired improperly. We just got it fixed last night.

We got the internet installed after two weeks of living here. The dog ripped the box up outside so we had to have that fixed. Then within a week, the router broke. We got that fixed last night, too. It's kind of felt like one thing after the other.

The huge pro is that it's SUPER quiet here, and there is ZERO going on. No gunshots at night, no loud motorcycles driving by, no nothing annoying / scary. It's pretty fantastic.

Lately my weekends consist of unpacking and setting everything up. And it has been confirmed - packing and unpacking EFFING SUCK.
