What a beautiful, relaxing weekend it was. Last week was the week from hell for me, school-wise. Fresh off of spring break we had four mid-terms. They were the last exams in each of my classes before finals. Talk about stress! The nice thing about this weekend was that I had NO school obligations. What a relief to be able to enjoy free time.
Friday we went to Shaver Lake to stay at a cabin Ben's family rented. The drive up was stunning. Everything had a fresh coat of snow on it.

It was an enjoyable evening, getting to spend time with both his mom and dad, his two sisters (one from London, one from LA) and his brother-in-law (from London).
The cabin had a spectacular view. Saturday morning Ben woke me up to tell me it was snowing. You see, even though I live pretty close to the mountains, and have been to the snow a ton of times, I have never seen the snow fall. Ever. Well, at 30 years old, that time finally came for me. It was gorgeous.

So, we ended up leaving Blitz at home, unattended for that less than 24 hour period. We gave him extra food and put his dog bed into his dog house. See, he had been taking it out and starting to shred it, but it had been awhile and it was supposed to be raining here. We wanted to provide him a nice shelter.
Well, friends, this is what we came home to:
