Hello, Blogger, and Happy New Year to all of you. I don't like to make resolutions, as I never actually follow through with them, but I would like to make it a point to write in this thing more often.
I bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 a few months back, as my laptop started getting buggy. While I do love it for some functions, typing isn't one of them. This evening I backed everything up to my external hard drive and reformatted my laptop. It's working nice and smooth again :)
For New Years, Ben's friends all get together and rent a beach house. This year, it was at Dillon Beach (Bodega Bay) which is where the Alfred Hitchcock film, "The Birds" was filmed. It's a lovely beach, cold, but full of dog-lovers. Overall it was a nice time, but I ended up with a fever on the evening of NYE, so I spent the evening in bed with my loyal partner, Blitz. I think I read a whole book that evening while listening to everyone having fun. Oh well, I rang in the 2012 in the same fashion and it was one of my best years, yet. Hopefully 2013 has the same outcome.
This weekend, Ben and I worked away on the house. Ever since we moved in, we've been busy almost every weekend with stuff and haven't had the chance to really get settled. And with the move out deadline we were faced with in regards to our Fresno home, our garage became half full of stuff and I've had to park my Honda outside for the last month or so. I'm so not that person. If I have a garage, I intend to use it for it's purpose. Sure, one side is already taken up with the Chevelle, but I hate, hate, hate getting into a car with a layer of ice on it in the morning and having to wait and shiver for it to clear up. So this weekend we set out to get our shit together. Overall, it was an incredibly productive weekend. My car is parked in the garage, our stuff is organized, and I now have a make-shift vanity set up.
We went from a huge bathroom in Fresno with tons of storage space and counter space to a bathroom with a fraction of the space. We ended up using the desk I bought for my apartment from back in the day as a vanity for me. Our bedroom is huge so it works perfectly. I now have all of my jewelry, hair tools, makeup, etc together in one place. I'm actually looking forward to getting ready for work tomorrow.
Tomorrow is business as usual. It seems like with the holidays, over the last month plus, work has been strange in a way. So many people out on vacations, etc. I'm looking forward to things all being back in order. I have been considering trying this program called "Ease into 5k". The company I work for promotes a healthy lifestyle by providing us with healthy foods in the office and other various options. They also participate in a lot of 5ks. I haven't ever been a runner, but I want to give it a try. This program is suited for people like me, to train someone from not running at all to be able to endure a 5k. I look forward to a healthier 2013, and to feeling better about myself and well, just feeling better in general.
